1. Information we collect
We may collect your name, email address, account and membership details, payment references, questions, AI conversations, community posts, replies, uploaded documents, Human Assist requests, support communications and records showing when and which Terms of Use you accepted.
We may also receive basic technical and usage information needed to operate and secure the service, such as request times, device or browser information and error records. Payment card details are handled by Stripe and are not stored by ASIC Assist in full.
2. How information is collected
Information is collected when you sign in, create or manage a membership, submit content, upload a document, use AI or Human Assist, contact us or otherwise use the site. Sign in with ChatGPT supplies the verified email address and, where available, the display name associated with your sign in.
3. Why we use information
We use personal information to create and secure accounts, provide memberships, process questions and documents, deliver AI and Human Assist responses, operate the community, process and reconcile payments, provide support, investigate misuse, meet legal obligations and improve the reliability and usefulness of ASIC Assist.
4. AI and service providers
Information may be processed by providers that help deliver ASIC Assist, including OpenAI for sign in and AI functions, Cloudflare for hosting and storage, and Stripe for payments and subscription administration. We may also use professional, technical or security providers where reasonably necessary. These providers may process information outside Australia under their own security and privacy terms.
We do not sell your personal information. We may disclose information where you direct or authorise us to do so, where reasonably necessary to provide the service, to protect users or the service, or where required or permitted by law.
5. Community information and documents
Questions, replies and documents posted to the community can be viewed by other signed in members. Selecting anonymous posting hides your displayed name, but does not remove identifying information written in your post or contained in a document. You are responsible for checking and redacting documents before sharing them.
Private AI conversations and Human Assist requests are not posted to the community. They can be accessed by authorised systems and staff as needed to provide and administer those services.
6. Information about other people
If you provide personal information about another person, you must have a lawful reason and appropriate authority to do so. Provide only what is reasonably necessary and remove unrelated personal, confidential or commercially sensitive information.
7. Storage, security and retention
We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards designed to protect information from unauthorised access, loss, misuse or disclosure. No online system can be guaranteed completely secure. Tell us promptly if you believe your account or information has been compromised.
We retain information for as long as reasonably needed to provide the service, maintain business and compliance records, resolve disputes, prevent fraud and meet legal obligations. Information may be deleted, anonymised or securely archived when it is no longer required.
8. Access, correction and account requests
You may ask to access or correct personal information we hold about you, or request closure of your account, by emailing help@asicassist.com.au. We may need to verify your identity. Some records may need to be retained where required by law or for legitimate record keeping and dispute purposes.
9. Complaints
Privacy questions or complaints can be sent to help@asicassist.com.au. Please include enough detail for us to understand and investigate the issue. We will respond within a reasonable time and explain any further review option that applies.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the service, providers or legal requirements change. The effective date identifies the current version. A material change may be presented for acceptance before you continue using member services.
